🍵My Iced Coconut Matcha Latte Recipe
Bright, refreshing, and just a little indulgent, this is my favorite afternoon pick-me-up right now. It’s simple to make, easy to customize, and tastes even better than it looks. If you’ve ever felt intimidated by matcha, this is a great place to start.
I’m still learning when it comes to matcha, and I want to acknowledge that it holds deep cultural significance, especially in Japan where it has been used for centuries in traditional tea ceremonies that are grounded in mindfulness and hospitality.
Recipe here ⬇️
Iced Coconut Matcha Latte
Ingredients:
1 heaping tsp (2g) matcha, I use DONA
2.5 oz (75ml) hot water, 175° F
1 can coconut water, I used Strange Water
1 Tbsp cup vanilla creamer, I used Chobani vanilla
Ice
Instructions:
Sift the matcha
Use a fine mesh strainer to sift your matcha into a glass measuring cup or small bowl. This helps break up clumps and gives you a smoother drink.Whisk with hot water
Add hot water and whisk until frothy. I don’t have a matcha bowl yet, so I use my measuring cup and it works just fine. You’re looking for a vibrant green color and small bubbles on top.Fill your glass with ice
Choose a glass and fill it with ice. This keeps the drink cold and helps create that layered look when you pour in the matcha.Add coconut water
Pour the coconut water over the ice. I used Strange Water.Add vanilla creamer
Next, pour in your vanilla creamer. The flavor is simple and smooth, and it really lets the matcha shine.Pour matcha on top
Slowly pour the whisked matcha over everything. You’ll get that beautiful, layered effect that looks as good as it tastes.Stir and enjoy
Give it a quick stir, it’s refreshing, energizing, and so satisfying.
Final Thoughts…Let’s Continue to Learn and Grow
While this iced version is more casual and modern, I’m approaching it with appreciation for where it comes from and a desire to keep learning. I’m not an expert, just someone who finds joy in small daily rituals and loves sharing them with others.
If you have resources or knowledge to share, I’d love to hear more. And if you’re making this at home let me know how you like it!
I’m always open to trying new combinations and learning along the way. 🤗
